Lessons

The lessons teach each rule set on the board, one step at a time. There is a starter lesson for American, Brazilian, International and Russian draughts, covering how men move, compulsory capture, which capture to choose, kings, promotion and the draw rules. Some steps are for reading. Others ask you to find the move the step names: select a piece and then its destination, or use the arrow keys and Enter. Every position and required move is checked by the same rules engine that runs the games. With an account your progress is saved; as a guest it lasts for the session. Your first game is a good companion if you are starting from nothing.
